Come to the Market!!
Do an art project for free with Rex the Surf Dog, that's me. I'm way down at the far end. Take your time and stroll through. Buy a burrito from Bridget, pick out a beautiful hand-crafted pair of earrings from Noe, see what new Aloha shirts Vicki has for sale, get a massage from Milica, and then just mosey on over to my tent and see what's going on. I'm always there "doin' doin'"!
Come to the Market!!!
Come to the Market!!
Come to the Market!!
Special! Special! Special!
Come to the Market!!
There are lots of famous people who frequent the Haleiwa Farmers' Market. Here's Matt Eagle and his wife, Rika, and their son, Ethan. Matt's the publisher of the Aloha Surf Guide, a visitor publication that teaches the reader about surfing and staying safe in the ocean. Stop by my tent for a free copy!! Mom writes for the magazine also---profiles of surfers! I know you will like it!
See Aloha Surf Guide online at: www.alohasurfguide.com
How about a Piece of Pizza?
This is where it all starts------the best slice of pizza you will ever taste. Big Wave Tomato's, Jeanne Vana, is in her field of tomato plants and basil whipping up a batch of mozzarella cheese. Her homemade pesto sauce on the top of the piece will take you to heaven!! Jeanne's tent at the Haleiwa Farmers' Market has straw fringe all around it------easy to spot! Please, tell her I sent you!
Try Something Different?
One of the many great things about living in Hawaii and, especially on the North Shore, is the abundance of unique and unusual fruits. Do you want to guess the name of this one? Dragon fruit. Interesting, huh? That's Tan and her husband, Thai, in the background. They are hard, hardworking farmers from Kahuku who provide excellent opportunities to sample fruits you've never seen before.

Just Down the Road
Kylie Matsuda is a fourth generation farmer in Kahuku, about 10 minutes to the north of Sunset Beach. There used to be just her family watermelon stand here, but there is so much more now. Under Kylie's direction, the farm has expanded. Check out the next few photographs and see what I mean.........
And all from Kahuku Farms

How about a Piece of Farm Pizza?
May I Take your Order?
Everything is homemade at Kahuku Farms-----the sauces, salad dressings----everything. I think you should take a drive out to the North Shore and continue around past the Turtle Bay a few minutes and stop at the old watermelon stand. It's on the mountainside of Kamehameha Highway. Here's the website for more details www.kahukufarms.com
Make sure you tell them, "Rex the Surf Dog sent me"!
Deeeeelish---Wouldn't you Agree?
So.....Come on Down to the Farm
Yes, I hope you'll journey to Kahuku Farms. Make a day of it; bring the kids with balls and let them run around in the wide open spaces barefoot! Let the nanny take them on the tour. Or just come for lunch with your friends, do a little gift shopping for beautiful body products, produce, etc. The views are spectacular and the atmosphere is so "Hawaii".
